Unable to Setup Printer? | Conslyc

Driver or Software Update Issue

-
Outdated or missing drivers are a common cause of setup failure, especially after system updates.
  • Check your OS for pending updates first.
  • Visit your printer manufacturer's website.
  • Download the latest driver matching your model & system.
  • Install the driver or let your OS auto-install it from Device Manager.

Network or Wi-Fi Problem

+

Wi-Fi disconnects or incorrect IP assignment can prevent your computer from seeing the printer on the local network.

  • Ensure both printer and computer are connected to the same 2.4GHz network band.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router and printer device.
  • Print a network configuration page to check IP connectivity.

Cable Connection or Hardware Reset

+

Physical communication barriers or internal memory lockups often require a complete hardware power cycle.

  • Disconnect USB or Ethernet cables and inspect for physical damage.
  • Power off the printer, unplug power cable for 60 seconds, and reconnect.
  • Try plugging into a different USB port on your desktop/laptop.

Firewall or Security Blocking Printer

+

Strict antivirus or firewall settings can block network ports required for printing spool services.

  • Temporarily disable third-party antivirus firewalls to test connection.
  • Ensure Network Discovery and File/Printer Sharing are turned ON.
  • Add your printer IP address to your security software's trusted list.
